Finding Our Anchor
Athens has been part of our travel conversations since 2015, though back then, we didn't see it for what it truly was. For years, we used it strictly as a transit city—a logistical stop for a quick afternoon and evening before catching a flight back to North America. Over the last two years, however, we’ve started to really discover the capital. After all, Athens is about 3,400 years old; there is a story waiting to be told in every single corner.
Being centralized is the key to managing your time easily. We usually rent apartments through Hestia in the Monastiraki area—being surrounded by Plaka, Syntagma, and Omonia makes every mission simpler.
The city is vibrant. As soon as you step out, you feel an energy that fuels you. If you duck into a crossing street, you find the real Athenian vibe: tiny coffee shops and old family tavernas.
From gyros stands to Michelin restaurants, you'll find a spot to fix your hunger easily. Tactical tip: get out of the tourist areas of Plaka to find where the locals really gather.
Athens has become a great anchor for our apps, Verboς and Naxos Insider. It gives us that real-world vibe we reflect in our haptic vibration features. This is just the beginning.
